How many days, how much time?

Let's look at quantifiers today. What are they? Well, these are words that help you talk about quantity - not necessarily about the exact number but the amount in general.

Here are some examples.

Mickey: I'm so worried about my exam.
Minnie: Don't worry. There is still a lot of time.
Mickey: There isn't much time. What if I fail?
Minnie: I'll love you anyway.

John: There are a lot of people in the house. Can you see?
Josh: Yes.
John: It looks like a surprise birthday party.
Josh: Well, it i s a surprise birthday party. Happy birthday, John!

Bee: Is there any honey? Are there any peaches?
Ant: There isn't any honey and there aren't any peaches.
Bee: No honey and no peaches?!
Ant: No. We need to go shopping.

Tourist: How much water do you have
Waiter:  Not much in this restaurant at the moment, sorry. Just two bottles of sparkling water.
Tourist: That's very little.
Waiter: I know. But there's a lake in our town. There's  quite a lot of water in it.
Tourist: Oh, ok. How many boats are there by the lake?
Waiter: I don't know. Why?
Tourist: You can't go swimming after dinner, can you? But you can get on a boat.

Husband: How many chairs do we need for all the guests?
Wife: A lot. But there are only few in our flat.
Husband: You'd better sit on one before the guests arrive, then.
Wife: Oh, OK. But what shall we give the guests to eat when they come?
Husband: We have a few apples and a few bananas. And there is a little cream in the fridge. Let's make some fruit salad, shall we?
Wife: Good idea.
