What was going on at 5 o'clock yesterday morning?

The blackbirds were singing.
The sun was making its way towards the horizon.
The breeze was gently moving around the sleeping neighbourhood.
The bees were dreaming of honey.
The plants were dreaming of rain.
The clouds were passing.
The moon was getting pale.
The day was almost getting up - but not quite yet.

The alarm clock wasn't buzzing.
The dogs weren't barking.
The kids weren't playing.
The coffee was not pouring down the pot.
People weren't going to the baker's, or to work, or anywhere.

The Earth was resting.
The rowan tree under my balcony was growing.
Everything was going to be alright.
