I've had this rug since February

One of my favourite things is a rug in my living room. I saw it in a shop (can't tell you the name of the shop as it would be advertising. But you probably know which shop it can be... ;)). I came back home and thought about the rug till the next day.

The next day, I went to the shop (again, you know which one it was ... ;)) and I bought it.
I love rugs and carpets, and scarves and shawls. In general, I like the idea of weaving.

Back to my rug, you can visit me and say "What a beautiful rug!" (I'll smile and nod my head, and I'll say, "Yes, isn't it?), and then you can ask me a question:

How long have you had this nice rug in your living room?

It means: "Jak długo / od jak dawna masz ten ładny dywanik w swoim pokoju?"

I've had it since February. Mam go od lutego.
Or:
I've had it for two months. Mam go od dwóch miesięcy.

since => the starting point
for => the number of days, months, years, etc.

since: my childhood, my last birthday, 2008, last week, 5 o'clock, I was born
for: two days, three months, four years, many years, ages, as long as I can remember

I've had my favourite blue cup since last summer.
I've known my best friend since my childhood.
I've been in this room for three hours.
I haven't seen anybody from school since March 12th.
I've lived in Poland for 16 years.

Now, answer these questions using since or for:

1. How long have you had your favourite thing?
2. How long have you known your best friend?
3. How long have you been in this room or this place?
4. How long haven't you seen your Grandparents?
5. How long have you lived in Poland?
