What a day!

When I woke up, it was Sunday. I slept long and well, so I was happy. It was a beautiful sunny morning. 

First, I had a tasty breakfast - warm pancakes with strawberry jam. Next, I went for a walk with my dog. We saw some playful squirrels in the park. On my way back I found a four-leaf clover. I gave it to my Mom and she said "Thank you, honey!" 

Then in the afternoon my family visited us. My cousin and I played our favourite game. And my uncle brought me a tiny wooden figure of a snake from Madagascar. I'm so keen on exotic animals! 

In the evening I got an email. It said that my photo of a chipmunk won in  "Teenage Photographers of Nature" competition. How exciting!

And, on top of all that, I didn't have to do any homework because it was Sunday.

What a day! :)

Yesterday my family got up late because the alarm clock didn't ring. We didn't have breakfast as we didn't have time for that - I only drank some water and I gobbled a banana. I ran to the bus stop but I missed the bus, so I had to wait for the next one. 

Obviously, I was late for school. Then we had a biology test. I'm afraid I didn't do very well in it. Then I talked in Maths class as I wanted to tell my friend Jack about my morning. The teacher got angry with me. She asked me a question. I didn't know the answer so I got a bad mark. And, to make things worse, in our PE lesson I didn't score a goal - so my team lost the match... The boys were angry with me and I felt really bad.

On my way back home it started to rain. I didn't have an umbrella so I got wet. 

When I came home, I was very hungry. But there was no dinner - Mom felt very tired so she didn't cook. Well, we ordered a pizza but we had to wait for it for two hours. And, when it finally arrived, it was cold! 

Then I quarelled with my brother about a TV program - we wanted to watch two different ones! We irritated Dad, who said: "no TV till next Monday!" 

And, just when I went to bed, I realised I still had some homework to do.

What a day! :(

1. Read one or both texts again and make two lists of verbs in the Past Simple tense - regular and irregular.

Przeczytaj post jeszcze raz - jeden lub oba teksty -  i wypisz czasowniki regularne i nieregularne w czasie przeszłym. Możesz zapisać formę podstawową, przeszłą i tłumaczenie wg wzoru:

2. Now, try your hand at writing :). Write about your day - a really good (= wonderful) one or a really bad (=terrible) one. Finish the text with the sentence "What a day!"
